Do you believe some people are more fortunate than others or do you think people create their own luck? In your opinion, are some people cursed?

Being in a minority, even a minority of one, did not make you mad.

There was truth, and there was untruth, and if you clung to the truth even against the whole world, you were not mad.~1984

Slap you on the back behind. My old boot heels be smokin.
I kinda hope we get stuck. We got Hell to pay.

Yeah, you got to play it smart.Stand on the seashore lookin' at the city.
The Coney Island white fish boy is on the run again. On the rich folks who get rude. Feeling your heart beating.I drink to you alas.
She just love my big ten inch.Take part in murderous deeds.
Man, she said, this life is a drag.Blades gonna flash when the street gangs clash.

A bright yellow sun.Sometimes the love you get ain’t good enough.

Oh sure. Nearly get immolated by the notorious underground coal fire, and all we take away from it? (Well, all D'Namouh managed to take away from it; I was busily dirtying my drawers in sheer terror at the possibility I was about to burn to death). Project Blue Book. Debunked, of course, by an excuse so flimsy you couldn't even wipe your ass with it. Hope they at least used two ply paper to write this garbage on. Read more... )

Hey, Hillies.

Haven't seen as many of you up here, posting.

I understand why you don't tend to say hi to me on the streets. Up until lately I haven't been in the soundest of minds, and besides, it seems to me that they are watching us awfully close.

After all, we may have shared some kind of Hellish experience here, but it doesn't make us native in their eyes.

While the earth gives off its own electromagnetic waves as it orbits the sun. Between the ionosphere and the earth's surface, there is a constant resonance is called the Shuman Resonance and exists at a frequency of 8hz in the ELF band range. It is impossible to quantify the effect that this may have on humans.

However, the population on earth is rapidly approaching the number of neurons in the brain. Douglas Rushkoff proposes that the consciousness of the earth may be awakened when all creatures of the earth become connected and resonate at the same frequency. The evolution of this network would then follow a neural model - a single network connected by synapses.

In 1945, Vannebar Bush developed a MEMEX, a memory expansion concept. The system could record information onto microfilm and then project it onto a translucent screen. Thus, his vision of allowing compression and rapid access to information before the advent of computers formed the basis of our current multimedia structure. Ironically, at the same time he began this work, Vannebar Bush was also leading the Manhattan Project atom bomb tests.

In 1984, an envelope from an anonymous source arrived at tv producer Jamie
Shandera's home. In it was a roll of undeveloped film containing what is now known as the MJ-12 document. The document contained the names of 12 men who researched the Roswell phenomenon and reported their findings directly to the president. Roscoe Hillenkoetter, the head of the CIA at the time, was at the top of the list of members. Another of the members was an MIT professor, Vannevar Bush, who headed the department of electrical engineering. The document was allegedly
signed by President Truman. However, it is now a fact that President Truman's signature on the document was a forgery.

LONDON, England (Jan. 9) -- Britain's accident prone "Octopus UFO" is just one of hundreds of unexplained sightings in the same area where a wind turbine was wrecked over the weekend, according to the latest reports.Read more... )---
According to Officials at the state run Vietnam News Agency, "An unidentified flying object exploded at about 10am on May 27 over the northern part of Phu Quoc Island." Colonel Nguyen Van Qui, a military commander on the island was the source of the report and no civilian, commercial or military aircraft are said to be missing in that area of southern Vietnam or nearby Cambodia.Read more... )

UFO crashes are rare events. When they occur in an area of the world that may not be under the control of the usual cover-up suspects, an opportunity presents itself for the nation and people involved to share what has happened with the world. Vietnam is a Communist country with close ties to China, so there still may be a tight lid clamped on this event at some point. If that doesn't occur, we may have a chance to see the smoking gun that proves intelligent Alien life forms exist and are visiting the Earth.

Something happened to me. I remember the clearing, and I remember there were people with me, but I don't remember where, or who they were. All I know now is someone is watching me, keeping tabs on my every move. I don't know how I came to be where I am now but it is crucial that I keep moving, keep going with my investigation.

Something happened to me that day. I just need to remember it.

I'm pretty sure someone who knows, or who knew me then might see this, so I will write again later. Don't reply to this communication!!
If they are reading it too they'll know you're looking for me...

Can't forget the zombies, now can we? Here at the end of everything....

We live in uncertain times. Earthquakes, hurricanes, the ever-present threat of zombies—do you have a disaster plan ready in case one of these things happens to you?

I am beseiged with self-doubt and the distinct sense that I am constantly one step behind myself, losing traction and always inches from dramatic and absolute destruction. The fear of inadequacy, the weakness of my words and thoughts is like a boa constrictor around my chest, rendering me paralyzed and incapacitated. The most prevalent motif in my life has become an inability to express. An Elliot-esque disconnect, a disassociation of meaning. The words are painful to produce, but not as painful as the feeling of mute impotence. Remember Jasmine, trapped by Jafar in an hourglass rapidly filling with sand? Yah, that’s me. Don’t forget the sexy red bikini outfit. But the point is, I’m behind glass, my time is running out, I yell and I beat at the walls of my transparent prison but all my efforts are in vain. There’s sand in my mouth and I can’t make a sound, and no Aladdin is coming to break me out. It’s all up to me. Oh, and I’m an existentialist, so no matter what I do, the uncertainty of what I could have done instead will always haunt me. There is never enough time or caffeine.

Maybe I’m doomed to forever embody the discontinuity between thought and its expression, between sense and sound. Maybe I’ll figure it all out and come out stronger than before, and maybe I’ll collapse magnificently and come out a smoking pile of rubble. Who can tell? The only thing I know is my emotions, and right now I’m feeling quite disoriented in my swirling little hourglass life.

You Are 36% Goth

You definitely have some gothicness going on, but you're far from being a stereotypical goth.

You enjoy certain elements of goth culture, but you're not going to be into something simply because it's goth.

It's likely that you're the type of person who totally defies labels. Good for you!

If you are into something, it's because you sincerely love it. Not because it projects a certain image.

Ever wonder what would happen if various types of asteroids hit Silent Hill? Like how wide the crater would be, how its depth would compare to various famous landmarks, and whether your clothes would burst into flames if you were 20km from the crash site?
